THE
STAGES ARE:

Cap de Creus - Andorra:
At this start of our journey, we meet the seaside village
Port Lligat, home of the painter Salvador Dalí,
and San Pere de Roda, a Romanesque gem of a village.
We cross into the District of La Garrotxa Empordanesa;
an area of pinewoods and cork oak, local vineyards,
the Boadella reservoir and several examples of Pre-Romanesque
and Romanesque architecture.
We stop to lunch at Camprodón, an old town in
the Eastern Pyrenees.
Continuing with the Collada Verda, we reach Planolas,
now in the Ripollés District, in the Ter Valley.
Then we climb to around 2,000 m., starting with the
hill of Tossas, which will bring us into the Cerdanya
District; an enormous valley of great tourist interest.
We climb again up the north side of the Segre river
valley and all along the way we can see the whole of
the Sierra del Cadí and the Natural Park, giving
us panoramic views of great beauty.
The track brings us to Andorra: the Pyrenean Country,
ending this intense first day.

Day 2: Andorra - Tremp:
We start towards the parish of La Massana, then the
La Botella pass. We start a pretty track in the middle
of a beautiful and extensive forest, leading us to the
District of Pallars Sobirá; and so to Llavorsí,
the place for adventure sports and wild waters.
We climb again towards Llessui, at 2,100 m., where we
enjoy a good lunch.
We continue, by tracks, towards the district of Pallars
Jussá, one of the extensive areas of upland pastures
in the Pyrenees. We see the National Park of Aigües
Tortes, Sant Mauricio Lake, Saliente Reservoir and finally
reach Tremp, visiting the highest vineyards of Europe
and the route of 11th and 12th century Castles. We dine
and stay at a hotel on the banks of a lovely lake.

Tremp - Aragües do Puerto:
This stage starts by leaving the Lleida Pyrenees and
entering the Aragon Pyrenees.
We climb to Pont de Suert, where we start to see the
Aneto.
Castejón de Sos, Sens, Viu and La Sierra Ferrera
are villages in this paradise, and we pass through them
to reach La Garganta de Añisclo, gateway to the
Ordesa National Park, where the massif of Monte Perdido
towers up to 3,350 m.
We come to Sarvisé, a very attractive town for
tourists, where we stop to eat.
We go on towards Senegué, discovering a series
of abandoned villages and enjoying some of the finest
views in all the Central Pyrenees, Peña Otúria.
We come to the river Gallego valley, arriving at Senegué,
very close to Sabiñanigo, and continue on by
tracks through pinewoods to El Pueyo de Escués.
We pass the Canfranc Valley, where we find Aragües
do Puerto, the end of this third day.

Aragües do Puerto
- Elizondo:
This stage takes us through the more Western valleys
of the Pyrenees, starting with those of Hecho and Ansó,
where the road passes through tunnels of natural stone,
until the valley opens, bringing us to the Selva de
Oza. More tremendous mountain views as we travel through
the Ansó valley, the gorge of the river Beral,
bringing us to the meadows of Zuriza. The pass of Los
Tabarros leads us into Navarra, arriving at Isaba.
The next stretch, by road, takes us through the La Selva
de Iratí, Irabia Reservoir, the arms factory
of Orbaiceta, we stop for lunch at Aribe, and after
a pause we take up the route again and come to La Colegiata
de Roncesvalles, of gothic style and the stopping point
for pilgrims.
We stay in a hotel in Elizondo, where we can watch or
even join in playing the game of “frontón”,
a typical sport in Navarra;

Hondarribia |
|
Elizondo - Hondarribia:
We leave Elizondo by the hill of Bagatxeta, towards
Bagordi. Then we pass through Etxalar and Bera del Bidasoa.
Following the river course, we come into Hondarribia;
where we celebrate our arrival with a good bathe on
the pretty beach and a good meal at the “Faro”,
the final point of our “Two Seas Route".
